The whole world is in turmoil. The empire, riven with internal strife, contracts, and with the legions gone, Britannia, is left dangerously exposed.
Between the painted Picts from the north and the Saxons in the south, the native Britons face a stark choice; to join forces with one of their bitterest enemies to survive being wiped out by the other.
The decision rests with a warlord leader, but making deals with enemies is fraught with dangers. Not least from his own family.
